UKHIFU, a subsidiary of USHIFU, is committed to a new standard for the treatment of prostate cancer with high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy through the distribution and use of Sonablate® 500 medical devices.
The Sonablate® 500 utilizes transducers in a single transrectal probe to capture live images of the prostate, to plan HIFU therapy and then to deliver therapy through intersecting precision focused sound waves. In most cases, HIFU with the Sonablate for localized prostate cancer is an outpatient procedure that lasts 2-3 hours, depending on the size of the prostate gland.
